How to make simple and tasty chilli sauce

 

Here is a simple recipe for making chili sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 red bell peppers, chopped
  • 1-2 red chili peppers, seeded and minced (depending on desired level of spiciness)
  • 2 cups of canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion and cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped red bell peppers and minced chili peppers and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  5. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, until it has thickened slightly.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
  7. Let the chili sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a blender or food processor and pulse until it reaches the desired consistency.
  8. Store the chili sauce in a clean, airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
